But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. Since this refrigerator is a premium, I expect better.
This fridge is a good choice, despite the small blip. It has a large freezer compartment, which is unusual for counter-depth French-door fridges. It also holds a lot of frozen food items compared to other models.
Inside the fridge, you'll find 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment is 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is on what you would expect from the size of a French door refrigerator that costs this much. It comes with a decent size refrigerator with an ice maker in the left door. However it's not the biggest one I've seen.
You can adjust the shelves in each compartment to create a customized storage arrangement for what you want to store. The GE PYE22PYNFS's design for the interior is good-looking, too. The LED lighting adds an appealing accent. The in-door storage bins come with a third shelf that can be folded down to store tall items. The drawers have temperature controls that allow you to set them to Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, but I found their plastic textured coatings a bit difficult on the fingers.
The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator includes all the features you'd expect from a refrigerator within this price range. It has Wi-Fi, app support and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app, available for iOS and Android devices, lets you control your fridge from anywhere in world, and it has many options for customizing. It will also send notifications when the door is unlocked, when the fridge or freezer must be defrosted and when the filter requires a change.
It would be nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS had Precise Fill which is an option that is available in a few other GE fridges that allows you to set the number of cups of water you'd like to disperse at once. The fridge displays a countdown timer to show you how much water is left however it's not as useful as Precise fill.
Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
The Bosch French-door Refrigerator is a striking piece. It's designed to look like a seamless piece in your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also features a veggie compartment which keeps vegetables and fruits fresher for longer periods, and dual compressors to preserve food. The Ice maker is among the top we've tested and produces pyramid-shaped Ice with low water usage. This refrigerator is a great option for a single family or kitchenettes who want a sleek design and top of the line food preservation.
This fridge was rated as the most efficient in our Refrigerators Test for a variety of reasons. Its freezer temperatures remained constant at just above 0° Fahrenheit and never fluctuated more than a tiny fraction - this is crucial to prevent freezing burn. The fridge section of the refrigerator also did well. It reached the initial temperature within an hour and maintained the temperature throughout our tests.

There's also a full-width storage drawer for deli items and an internal water dispenser.
One of the great things about this refrigerator is that its ice maker is inside the freezer, making it easy to transfer the ice to the refrigerator for use when required. The freezer also has innovative design features such as sliding drawers that can help you organize your items. It has a large bin for storing frozen food and a separate container for ice.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat, but it doesn't necessarily improve the efficiency of the fridge. In fact it took a bit longer to defrost and chill food in this fridge as compared to other fridges we test. This could be due to the larger capacity.
Another issue with the doors of this refrigerator. They have handles that are sunken at the front, which allows smaller people to pull them open from the bottom, however they're difficult for taller people to pull shut without slamming them. It would have been much better if these had front-mounted handles.
The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a ideal option for those looking to combine the benefits of a French-door refrigerator's aesthetics with an efficient layout. Its capacity is higher than average for counter-depth models, and it cools evenly. It's also a little less than the top counter depth refrigerator with an ice maker, which makes it a desirable choice.
Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a good option when you're looking for a French door fridge that doesn't break the budget. It's a basic design that isn't as striking visually like some of the competitors but it does have enough features to make it a solid choice. Its most notable feature is the temperature adjustable drawer, helps to keep food like meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also has a large water dispenser, as well as an excellent ice maker that operates quickly.
Another nice feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits above the two crisper bins. This drawer allows you to use some of the refrigerator's cooling power into this area so that you can keep food items that require special attention. You can adjust this feature by using a slider that's located right in the middle of the drawer. You can also set the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've noticed that the general settings are more effective than the specific ones.
In my tests, I discovered that the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent in different areas of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the middle, top and bottom of the fridge didn't differ much from 38 degrees. This is a pretty good performance, but it doesn't quite rank among the best in our ratings.
This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be connected with a smart thermostat to obtain more precise readings of the internal temperature of your fridge.
The exterior of the Frigidaire is made of gray-bodied stainless with a "smudge proof" finish. It is capable of removing streaks and fingerprints even when compared with glossy stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tried.
